How to Access Voicemail on iPhone 12? Set It Up First!
You can check your voice messages from the Phone app. Of course, you have to set it up beforehand. First of all, you need to make a passcode before being able to use voicemail message service. Launch the Phone app on your iPhone then select Voicemail (see the bottom right corner of the screen).
After that, press Set Up Now. You will be asked to enter a four to six digits passcode. Click Done when you have finished entering the passcode. Then re-enter it as prompted and last, tap Done. You will not need to enter the passcode again unless later there’s an issue. At this point, your voicemail is now set up.
Is it possible to change the voicemail passcode? The answer is yes. In case you want to change it, you do it any time. Just go to the Settings app on the iPhone. Tap on Phone and select Change Voice Password. On the space provided, enter the new passcode which consists of four to six digits. Re-enter it to ensure your new password is type correctly. Record a Custom Greeting
A greeting greets callers whenever they want to leave voice messages. Actually, your network carriers already provide a default greeting, but it is recommended that you create a custom greeting. Using the default one, callers might be worried that they’ve called the wrong number.
To create a custom greeting, open Voicemail from the Phone app. On the upper left corner, tap on Greeting then select Custom. Tap Record to record your custom greeting whenever you are ready. Before you save the new greeting, you can play it back by tapping Play. If you are happy with the recorded greeting, click Save.
Listen to Voicemails
Go to voicemail from the Phone app. Beside to Voicemail tab in the Phone app, you will a badge with a number representing unheard voicemails left by callers.
When someone leaves a voice message, you will see a badge with a number next to the Voicemail tab in the Phone app. The number represents all unheard voicemail messages. Open the playback options by tapping a voicemail. Select the one you want to listen. You can listen to it directly from your iPhone, with iPhone speakers, or, with a connected Bluetooth speaker.
Share or Save Voicemail on iPhone
Once retrieved, voicemails will stay on your device even though this does not guarantee that they are forever saved. Note that you might lose them in case something happens to your iPhone. Therefore, it is suggested to store them safely in iCloud, Dropbox, or another cloud-based service. Voicemails can also be shared with others via built-in and third-party apps if you want.
Select the voicemail you want to share. At the top of the selected message, tap the Share button (the one which looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward). Next, tap the service you want to save the file to or want to share through.
Call back the Caller
When receiving a very important voicemail message, you may want to respond right away by calling back the one who left the voicemail. It can be done very easily from the voicemail tab. Look at the bottom middle of the voicemail and tap Call Back. Meanwhile, on the upper right corner of the message, you will see the information button from which you can respond the message via other ways of communication (with video, mail, chat, etc.)
